- 5. Why is ReSample so slow? - Top
- ReSample is slow because it has been built using the MATLAB Compiler from The MathWorks, Inc. The associated runtime libraries use double-precision (64-bit) foating-point computations throughout (even for file I/O and the graphical-user-interface). This has the advantage of providing very high numerical precision, though at the price of computational efficiency. We are looking at the possibility of using faster libraries in a future upgrade of ReSample.
