  • F.A.Q: WaveWarp Installation & Registration

Questions relating to system requirements, licensing, installation, and registration for all WaveWarp products

    2. The WaveWarp Uninstaller fails under Windows 9x/Me. How can I uninstall the software ? - Top

This is due to an installation bug in all versions of WaveWarp 2.x before 2.0.3. The bug has been fixed in 2.0.3. Note: the error only occurs with Windows 9x/Me. The uninstaller works fine with Windows NT4/2000.

Carry out the following steps to uninstall WaveWarp 2.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2 under Windows 9.x/Me:

    1) Delete the Sounds Logical folder from your hard-drive (this is the location where the WaveWarp application resides).

    2) Delete the SoundsLogical entry in the Windows Registry using the regedit.exe utility application located in C:\Windows. Within regedit, look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software for the SoundsLogical entry to be deleted.

    3) Remove all WaveWarp entries from the Windows Start Menu, etc.

After performing these steps, WaveWarp will be essentially "uninstalled" (there may be relic traces such as empty directories, dead shortcuts, etc, but these are unimportant). You may now proceed to install the new version of WaveWarp.
